Well, hello there. Just thought I’d send a quick shout out to whoever is left of my followers. THANK YOU for continuing to read when I sputter some words every few months.
After the recent world developments, I had to pull back a bit and focus on the most important things in life: family, friends, and goodwill. The holidays definitely help, and seeing Christmas through my girl’s eyes for the first time was everything I needed to start restoring my faith in the future. The future is indefinite for so many reasons, but we have to fight to stay present and enjoy life while we’re in it.
Thanks to everyone who sent comments about my last few posts. I face this ongoing identity crisis at The Daily Sampler. I still have no desire to engage with angry internet trolls and I know political hot takes will only invite that. Yet, I think it’s important to write about what’s real. Reinvention is a continuous process, I suppose. What I do know is that this blog was created at a time where I lost connection to myself, and though my life is in a much different, much better place now, I am again seeking a reconnection. Whichever shape The Daily Sampler takes in 2017 and beyond, I hope you’ll join me.
