The first stop after you touch down in Orlando? Checking in to your hotel. If you are smart, you’re staying on the Disney World property, and it’s smart because you get to take advantage of all the convenient intra-park transportation. And duh, that means you can drink yourself silly at Epcot everyday. For nostalgic reasons, my group is staying at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. It’s the same place we stayed as kids, and it holds many great memories. I can only hope it’s as fantastic as we remember, and that their take-out pizza has improved. Up until I lived in Halifax, that went down as the worst pizza I’ve ever eaten. You’ve got your work cut out of you, CBR.
As mentioned, I’ll be delivering reviews after the vacation from a more personal account, but until then, let me share with you some great Internet resources to help you plan your Disney experience. I am not kidding, I found planning a Disney World trip to be among the most difficult trips I’ve ever worked on. And I’ve been around. Many times, your best resources are the unofficial Disney sites.
The Pros and Cons of Every Disney World Hotel (wdwprepschool.com) – This lady did her homework. She is far superior to me, who threw aside my Disney app after 5 minutes and declared the trip planning, “good enough!” This page also has additional links to show you things like “views from every room,” and even more in-depth pictures and resort info.
Best Values at Disney Resorts (Mousesavers.com) – This one is even more in-depth. Love these people.
