At my house, the 23rd of December is a holiday in its own right. Basically, once we do something on the 23rd of December, it is sealed in stone forever and cannot be altered. This year, we will open the traditional 23rd of December gift, eat the traditional 23rd of December sushi (new in 2013,) and maybe consume the traditional 23rd of December Christmas punch. I just made up that last one, but who knows, it could happen. The night is young. I am going to help you create some 12/23 traditions for your own family, right now.
23rd Small Plates:
Holiday Party Punches (Huffington Post) – Not too heavy, and not too labor intensive…you have to stay “hydrated” while doing that last minute wrapping, right?
Christmas Karaoke Battling (Tistheseasonto.be) – Wait, you don’t have a Karaoke system in your home? Hm. I just thought everyone did. Some of our best parties have revolved around group singing and/or Karaoke battles. Try it.
Christmas Spa Party (Spoonful) – Everyone wants to be polished up and ready come Christmas Eve. The 23rd is the ideal time to do it all, maybe make it a sleepover party. Just a suggestion.
