This Monday Saved by ‘Bound 3,’ Happy 90’s Memories, and Fashionable Winter Coats

Ya know, Mondays still stink, even when you are employment-impaired.  My day started with a relatively pleasant trip to a Canadian dentist, and pretty much ended there after coming home and discovering I felt under the weather and icky.  If a day had to be wasted, I suppose it’s acceptable that this was the one.  Cross your fingers for me.  I’ve got two more full days before I can return to my life with real people.  It will be exhilarating.

MONDAY HELPINGS:

Seth Rogen and James Franco Spoof ‘Bound 2’ Video (Huffington Post) – I can only believe that our favorite comedic geniuses chose to release this glorious take on Kanye West’s creepy new video today, Monday, to make us all smile.  If you haven’t giggled through it yet, it’s an absolute must-see.

I guess you’re just what I needed.

American Music Awards 2013: Katy Perry’s Act Called Racist (NY Daily News) – Besides all the other non-news from this forgettable awards show, people everywhere are in an uproar over Katy Perry’s so-called “racist” performance of her new single, in which she dresses in full Geisha attire.  So, I watched the video and don’t really see any intentional or offensive actions- but hey, I’m not Japanese so what do I know?  To me, it looked like an overproduced performance hoping to be called “theatrical.”  Watch it and let me know what you think.

50 Things Millennials Have (Tragically) Never Heard of (Rolling Stone) – So although I’m a person of Generation Y (now apparently called a “Millennial,”) I am happy to report I remember and celebrate each and every one of these pieces of 90’s glory day nostalgia. Maybe it’s because I’ve always been very into pop culture- but man, I feel sorry for the kids of today.  (::elderly comment::)

Best Winter Coats for 2013 (Marie Claire) – I am hunting for the perfect jacket myself, so I thought I’d share.  My coat has to have: warmth, a hood, some kind of waste cinching so I look like a woman and not a garbage bag, and something I can dress up, or dress down.  So far, everything I’ve liked has flown off the shelves and is already sold out.  I guess that’s a good sign that I’m “with” it?
