G’day. Back from the longest DS hiatus since its creation, (one week +), I return to do even more reflecting. One year ago today, I married my cool, smart, worldly, handsome archaeologist dream guy. That means today, we get cake. I’m pretty excited about that cake. Overall, I’m just excited.
Last night, we had a great send off in the form of a bon voyage party with some of my favorite, favorite people. There is no better way to be reminded of how fantastic life is than by being surrounded by everyone you love.
Tomorrow, we begin our year-long, mostly-abroad adventure, starting in Rome, one of my favorite cities in the world. It’s not lost on me that this is an experience some people will only dream of. Again, incredibly grateful. I’m not yet sure how I plan to capture our journey. Ideally, I’d love to update daily, sampling some of the best things we find. Realistically, I’m not sure how much I’m going to feel like sitting down to blog after 7 hours walking a field in Basilicata. Either way, I promise to share lots of things that you will find interesting, annoying, gorgeous, drool-worthy, creepy, fascinating, or any combination of all those things at once. Stay tuned… The Daily Sampler is ’bout to get international.
